Sony ILX-LR1
There is a known issue with the Sony ILX-LR1 that prevents images from being captured and requires setting the camera up to its state at the time of delivery. A description of the issue and solution can be found below.
Description of Issue
A small internal battery for the Sony ILX-LR1 holds camera parameters required for normal operation in volatile memory. With insufficient power-on time, this battery can discharge fully, wiping these parameters and resetting the camera to essentially a factory state. Until these parameters are setup again, the camera will be unable to capture images.
Solution
Powering the battery for one hour per month should charge the battery to full, allowing for one month of charge to hold camera parameters. Gobi power-on time will power and charge the battery. During normal flight operations (and subsequent data download time) more frequently than a semi-weekly basis, users should not encounter any issues with the camera battery.
GRYFN recommends Gobi be powered for at least 30 minutes every two weeks to ensure sufficient charge to the battery (this time is inclusive of flight time and data download time).
Should the battery die, instructions for resetting the battery can be found below.
