Dual-Sensor Hyperspec III Instance
Both VNIR and SWIR must be connected to the machine over Ethernet at the same time for dual-sensor Hyperspec III setup to work. Headwall includes a USB switch with the CoAligned that must be used.
Prerequisites
HSInsight must be at least version 3.3.0.0
If an update is needed, please reach out to support@gryfn.io for the update tool.
Then connect to the system via ethernet and apply power to the sensor.
Launch the program and follow the prompts to update.
Hyperspec III / SpectralView must be at least version 3.4.0.0
If an update is needed, please reach out to support@gryfn.io for the latest installer.
Configuration Updates
Before making changes, create a backup of your sensorConfig folder.
2
Make a new copy of the HSIII launch icon on your desktop and label it cAHP-XXX
3
Right-click on the new Hyperspec III launch icon -> Properties
4
On the 'Target' line, after the .exe, add a space and add sensors=sensors_cAHP_XXX Where XXX is your CoAligned's serial number

5
From the downloaded configuration files, place the sensors_cAHP_XXX.json file in your C:\Headwall\sensorConfig folder Where XXX is your CoAligned's serial number
6
Open sensors_cAHP_XXX.json in a text editor
7
Rename the uVS-XXX (line 2) and nHP-XXX (line 15) to the serial numbers of your VNIR and SWIR respectively – then save Where XXX is the sensor number of the respective VNIR or SWIR sensor, NOT the CoAligned serial number
8
From the downloaded configuration files, copy-paste nanoGpsUltra.json and nanoGps.json in the C:\Headwall\sensorConfig folder Overwrite existing files if prompted.
9
Check that you have the user.json and factory.json files in the C:\Headwall\sensorConfig\uVS-XXX folder If only one of these files exist, duplicate the existing file from this uVS-XXX folder and rename it as the missing file name (user.json or factory.json)
10
From the downloaded configuration files, place the factory.json file in the C:\Headwall\sensorConfig\nHP-XXX directory Duplicate factory.json and rename it user.json
A few known bugs with the dual-sensor instance of Hyperspec III:
Calibration tab appears but is not (nor should it be) active, and should be ignored.
In the File Transfer tab when Nano HP is active, all data will display as 2048 MB (unless it is less than 2048 MB). This is a bug. For accurate file sizes, investigate individual files in the captured data folder, or use FTP.
Create Cube Image does not work for NanoHP during file transfer. Make sure to uncheck this box when downloading from the Nano HP.
GRYFN Processing Tool creates cube images (PNG preview) of cubes during the bundling process.
When downloading data from the Nano HP, the progress bar is not accurate because the file size (as seen in 2. above) is not accurate.
