Installing the module

Installing the module on your UAV

DJI Phantom

Step 1 - Install GNSS Antenna Mast

Using the included mounting tape, install the GNSS antenna mast on the right side of the Phantom 4 fuselage. Be careful to ensure the antenna mast is reasonably level and centered between the UAV arms.

Step 2 - Install Module Carrier

Clip the tracking module carrier mount between the UAV landing gear with the mounting facing the left side. The carrier should be well-centered on the landing gear. If the fit is loose (carrier can easily slide on the landing gear), use two cable ties to constrain the mount. A cable tie can also be used to hold the GNSS antenna cable to the carrier to prevent interference with camera gimbal operation.

Step 3 - Install Tracking Module

The Tracking Module snaps into place on the carrier mount using 3M™ Dual-Lock™ reclosable fasteners.

Connect the GNSS antenna cable from the antenna mast to the tracking module.

Connect the AV14 antenna to the antenna mast.

To remove the Tracking Module from the Phantom for installation on the Mavic 2, perform the above steps in reverse order, but leaving the antenna mast and carrier mount on the Phantom.

DJI Mavic 2

Step 1 - Install Module Carrier

Using the prepared 3M™ Dual-Lock™ reclosable fastener material, attach the Tracking Module Carrier to the Mavic 2 batteries as shown in the picture below.

Dual-Lock™ can be installed on other batteries to facilitate moving of module mounts. Take note of the fastener pattern/layout on the tracking module to ensure good contact between the battery and carrier.

Step 2 - Install Tracking Module

Position the Tracking Module into place on the Mavic 2 Module Carrier taking note of the module's orientation.

The antenna can be connected directly to the Tracking Module.

Be sure to update the APX-15 INS configuration when tracking module or antenna position or orientations change, such as when moving from a Mavic 2 to Phantom 4. See the Operations section of this manual for more details.
